About the Author
Hi, I’m Amber.
I’m a writer, poet, and storykeeper from Connecticut whose work lives at the intersection of softness and survival. I write for the women who feel too much and still want more—the ones who were told they had to be quiet, and chose to become something more powerful instead.
My stories are rooted in emotional honesty, sensuality, and reclamation. Whether I’m writing Southern legacy fiction, literary romance, or something a little more ghostly, I care about what we carry, what we bury, and what we survive.
I’ve been writing since I was a girl, but I started writing for real when I realized my survival needed a language. My work has always been an offering—to myself, to anyone who has ever tried to hold themselves together with story, and to every woman who knows what it’s like to live in a body that remembers.
My writing explores grief, desire, mental health, identity, memory, and legacy. I believe softness is a strategy. I believe love is worth telling the truth for. And I believe that healing is messy, nonlinear, and worth writing about anyway.
Known online as @amberrroze, I also host Brutally Soft, a podcast about tenderness, rage, and what it means to choose yourself again and again.
I live in Connecticut with my fiancé and our dog, and I’m currently working on my next novel. When I’m not writing, I’m probably lost in a Pinterest moodboard, crying at someone else’s poem, or whispering “just one more page” to myself at 2 a.m.
If you see yourself in my stories—or even in the space between the lines—you’re already part of the lineage I’m writing for. You’re welcome here.
